So sánh kép và càng... càng: Lý Thuyết

Diễn tả sự việc tăng dần theo thời gian. Với tính từ ngắn:

adj-er + and + adj-er

• The weather is getting hotter and hotter.
• The days are getting shorter and shorter.

Thường đi với get/become. Bẫy lớn nhất của dạng này: ❌ more and more hot — tính từ ngắn phải lặp dạng -er.

Với tính từ dài:

more and more + adj (chỉ nói more and more MỘT lần)

• Life in big cities is becoming more and more stressful.
• English is becoming more and more important.

Với danh từ: more and more + danh từ: More and more people are learning English online.

Hai sự việc tăng giảm cùng nhau — cấu trúc được nhấn mạnh trong đề thi từ 2025:

The + so sánh hơn + S + V, the + so sánh hơn + S + V

• The more you practice, the better you will speak.
• The harder you work, the more you will earn.

Bắt buộc có the ở CẢ HAI vế — thiếu the ở một vế là phương án bẫy phổ biến nhất.

Tính từ/trạng từ so sánh hơn phải đứng ngay sau the, kéo cả cụm lên đầu vế:

• ✅ The more you read, the richer your vocabulary becomes.
• ❌ The more you read, your vocabulary becomes the richer.

Dạng rút gọn quen thuộc: The more, the better. / The sooner, the better. (Càng nhiều/sớm càng tốt.)

1. Tính từ ngắn lặp -er: hotter and hotter, KHÔNG phải more and more hot.

2. Tính từ dài chỉ một more and more: more and more expensive, KHÔNG phải more expensive and more expensive.

3. Đủ the hai vế càng...càng: ❌ More you study, the more you know.

4. Không trộn double comparative: ❌ more richer, the more rich (rich là tính từ ngắn → the richer).
