01. Giả định và đảo ngữ: Lý Thuyết

Sau các động từ chỉ đề nghị/yêu cầu/ra lệnh, mệnh đề that dùng động từ NGUYÊN THỂ cho mọi chủ ngữ — không thêm s, không chia thì:

S + V + that + S + V(nguyên thể)

• The manager requested that every report be submitted by Friday. (không phải is)
• We recommend that he attend the safety briefing. (không phải attends)

Nhóm động từ: request, recommend, suggest, insist, demand, propose, require, ask, advise.

Cấu trúc It is + tính từ + that + S + V(nguyên thể):

• It is essential that all visitors wear a badge.
• It is important that the invoice be paid on time.

Nhóm tính từ: essential, important, necessary, vital, urgent, imperative, crucial, advisable.

Phủ định: đặt not trước động từ nguyên thể — that he not be informed.

Khi các cụm phủ định đứng đầu câu, mệnh đề theo sau phải đảo như câu hỏi:

• Never / Rarely / Seldom / Hardly / Little: Rarely has the company seen such strong demand.
• Not only ... but also: Not only did sales increase, but costs also fell.
• No sooner ... than / Hardly ... when: No sooner had we signed than the price changed.
• Under no circumstances / At no time: Under no circumstances should staff share passwords.

Các cụm bắt đầu bằng Only cũng gây đảo ngữ:

• Only after the audit was the budget approved.
• Only when all forms are complete can we process your claim.
• Only then did the team realise the error.

Lưu ý: mệnh đề ngay sau Only when / Only after KHÔNG đảo — chỉ mệnh đề CHÍNH mới đảo.

1. Giả định dùng nguyên thể: ❌ requested that he attends → ✅ attend; ❌ essential that it is → ✅ be.

2. Đảo ngữ mượn trợ động từ: ❌ Rarely the company has → ✅ Rarely has the company.

3. Với động từ thường phải mượn do/does/did: Not only did sales increase.

4. Only when + mệnh đề thì chỉ đảo mệnh đề chính phía sau.
