Năm dạng đại từ — VỊ TRÍ quyết định dạng nào

Không cần hiểu nghĩa câu: nhìn chỗ trống đứng ở đâu là biết chọn dạng nào.

Trong TOEIC, chỗ trống đứng ngay trước một danh từ thì gần như luôn là its hoặc their, không bao giờ là it’s hay they’re.

another + danh từ số ít = một cái nữa (chưa xác định): request another form.
the other = cái CÒN LẠI khi chỉ có hai: One is in Hanoi, the other is in Can Tho.
others = những cái khác, đứng MỘT MÌNH: Some prefer remote work; others prefer the office.
other + danh từ số nhiều: other departments.

one / ones thay cho danh từ ĐẾM ĐƯỢC nhắc lại: Our old printers were slow, so we bought faster ones.
that of / those of dùng khi so sánh hai thứ cùng loại: The cost of the new system is lower than that of the old one. (cost — số ít) · The specifications are better than those of the older model. (specifications — số nhiều)

Quy tắc chọn: danh từ được thay là số ít → that; số nhiều → those.

Those who = những người mà… — luôn dùng those, không dùng they hay these: Those who wish to attend must register.
everyone, everybody, someone, nobody, each luôn đi với động từ SỐ ÍT: Everyone in the department has received the handbook.
